วันที่ 5 ตุลา คม 2563 นายกรัฐมนตรี “มนาสเซ โซกาวร์” ของ หมู่เกาะโซโลมอน ได้ออกมาแถลงผ่านโทรทัศน์ว่า ประเทศนั้นได้พ่ายแพ้ให้กับไวรัสโควิด-19 แล้ว โดยพบผู้ติดเชื้อรายแรกในประเทศ เป็นเด็กนักเรียน ที่เพิ่งจะเดินทางกลับมาจากประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ พร้อมกับผู้โดยสารทั้งหมด อีก 96 คน แต่ไม่ได้ระบุว่า ผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางมากกับนักเรียนที่ติดเชื้อนั้น มีการตรวจพบเชื้อไวรัสในร่างกายด้วยหรือไม่

วันที่ 6 ตุลาคม 2563 จาก สำนักข่าวรอยเตอร์ ได้รายงานมาว่า จากข้อมูลที่ได้รวบรวมโดยรอยเตอร์พบว่า ยอดของผู้เสียชีวิต จาก โควิด19 ในประเทศเมียนมา ได้เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 2 เท่า ภายในระยะเวลาเวลาเพียง 7 วันเท่านั้น

ซึ่งนับว่าเป็นอัตราการเสียชีวิตที่เพิ่มขึ้นเป็นเท่าตัว ที่รวดเร็วกว่าประเทศอื่นใดในโลกอีกด้วย สำหรับประเทศที่มียอดผู้เสียชีวิตมากกว่า 5 คน

ทางด้านกระทรวงสาธารณสุขและกีฬาของประเทศเมียนมา ได้รายงานตัวเลขผู้ติดเชื้อ โควิดรายใหม่ เมื่อวันที่ 5 ตุลาคม ได้เพิ่มขึ้น 987 คน จนทำให้ยอดรวมผู้ติดเชื้อโควิดในเมียนมา อยู่ที่ 18,781 คน และส่วนผู้เสียชีวิตเพิ่มขึ้นมาเป็น 32 คน ทำให้ยอดรวมผู้เสียชีวิตอยู่ที่ 444 คน รักษาหายแล้ว 5,548 คน
